If you have some extra time, consider one of the adventures below or follow the links to local websites to find more information!

An Urban Outing

Fargo: North of Normal

Take a day trip and head into Fargo (approximately an hour away from Fair Hills) to explore some of the unique things it has to offer.  The downtown business district has great restaurants and fun boutique shopping.  We're particularly fond of Rhombus Guys pizza, Blackbird Wood Fire, Wurst Bier Hall, and Vinyl Taco to name a few.  Unglued offers local knick knacks or you can take in a unique movie at the historic Fargo Theater.  Fargo is sure to exceed your expectations and trust me, it's nothing like the movie!

Lakeside Lazing

Detroit Lakes

Just twenty minutes away from the resort, Detroit Lakes is a bustling little city in lakes country with plenty to take in.  The public beach is a popular place in the summer with sandy swimming, and boats docking for a bite to eat.  If you're interested in water sports, there are plenty of rental companies looking to help you try your hand at paddle boarding, kayaking, or other fun activities.  Stop in at Zorbaz DL for a pizza or some macho nachos, or grab a cold beverage at Lakeside Tavern.  There's often live music and arts events and a Farmer's market is held on Tuesdays and Saturdays each week so check the local calendar.

Off the Beaten Path

Local Fare

There's plenty of hidden gems in the area if you're looking to explore, just grab a map or your GPS and see where the day takes you.  Consider plugging in Pit 611 or Randy's, a local towny (dive) bar where the beer is cheap, the soda served in cans, and there's pool tables to try out.  The Roadhouse offers live music several nights per week and sand volleyball courts out back.  Cormorant Pub is sure to have the Twins game on and pull tabs available.  Finally, consider Hotel Shoreham if you're looking for a nice dinner with a side of great history of the area.
